Sunday Adventures.

Sunday.

Today's event can be summarized with one word - FUN.

It's been sometime since my cell did a Walk About, no not that ritual performed in the Outback, but rather just a few of us walking around with no particular aim. =)

It started out with a desire to eat something different rather than our usual sat/sun fair; almost everyone was complaining about TTSH/U Sq food and to prevent a cell insurrection, our beloved cell fuhrer made a good political move by suggesting somewhere else. And since i wanted to go take a look at bag packs, i suggested Beach Road.

And they we ended up at Beach Road. Lunch was surprisingly good. Guess it was the change in environment? =) I got my new Tatanka bag pack for 150 bucks. Plus I bought a side pouch and medic pouch for 50 bucks. What to do? The blood of medics runs in my veins. Unknowingly I have assembled a reasonable medical First Aid Kit, call it the medic nature, even Shaun has one too!

After Beach Road we headed down to St. Andrew's Cathedral. After a treacherous walk, we finally arrived at the gates of SAC. SAC underwent renovation a few months back, and the new building (or so called new extension) is simply breath-taking. The new side building is aptly named Chapel for All People, it is a non threatening structure made out of mostly glass, which amplifies the sunlight as it shines in. The marvel is in it's architectural design, very intelligent.
The new basement consists of a new sanctuary used mainly by the youth group. And as we strolled in, we couldn't help by breath in the fragrance of pine. We were all lost for words as we sat down to rest.

It was simply beautiful; you gotta see it for yourselves. Clarence mentioned that if RCC was to be like this after the rebuilding, he will break down and cry. Haha.

Then next we headed up to the main building, and as we entered the structure we realized that their mandarin service had just ended. And been the naughty MAD guys, we shook the hands of the pastors and deacons as we exited the building! Heehee! All thanks to Jachin!

Next we headed down to the Asian Civilization Museum. Yep, you heard it. MUSEUM. Weird place to go isn't it? Well, the only reason we went there was because it was free! Only for today! =) Instead of the usual boring stuff, on the contrary we were very fascinated by the exhibitions. And God spoke to us, especially about our blatantly paganistic society, and how the cross of Christ frees us from all these fear of the underworld, ghosts and so on. We were facing a greater enemy than we know, an enemy that has so vastly infiltrated our society, our culture, and our traditions. We need to up the offensive, and not rest on our laurels.

Then we headed to the Islamic section, and we had fun discussing about how similar Islam was to the Christian faith, and at the calligraphy section I promised Jachin that i will paint the word "Peace" or "Shalom" in Hebrew and frame it up for him to hang in his new house.

I shall indeed. =)

Truly, we walked for quite some distance today, but i really enjoyed myself, i didn't even feel any tiredness or whatsoever. My legs were still going strong even while the rest collapsed in sheer exhaustion. So I don't see any problem with endless hours of shopping with my future girlfriend. =) And I'm pretty sure she'll be more than "willing" to accompany me to all the weird places.

And so ends a wonderful Sunday, I pray that there'll be more.
